Thousands of children’s kitchen helper towers sold on Amazon have been recalled after reports of falls and injuries, prompting officials to urge families to stop using them immediately.

Popular Children’s Kitchen Towers Recalled Over Fall Hazard

Parents across the United States are being advised to stop using certain children’s kitchen helper towers after a nationwide safety recall raised concerns about a defect that could lead to serious falls.

The recall involves Guide craft Kitchen Helper Towers, a popular product designed to help young children safely reach kitchen countertops while cooking or baking with adults. Federal safety officials say a key part of the tower can loosen over time, making the product unstable and increasing the risk of children falling during use.

The warning applies to products sold through Amazon and several other major retailers, prompting families to check whether their tower is among the recalled models.

    Thousands of Products Affected Nationwide

The recall covers approximately 25,235 Guide craft Kitchen Helper Towers available in different colors and designs.

The affected products include both the Classic and Contemporary versions, which were sold online between June 2022 and October 2023 through Amazon, Walmart, Target, Wayfair, Overstock, Maisonette and Guide craft’s official website.

Most of the towers were sold for around $200, making them a common addition to family kitchens. Officials say owners should inspect the identification label beneath the standing platform to determine whether their product is included in the recall.

Checking the model and lot number against the official recall information is the quickest way to confirm whether the product is affected.

    Safety Reports Prompt Federal Recall

The recall was announced after reports suggested that the platform inside some towers could loosen or detach while children were standing on it.

According to federal safety officials, Guide craft received 11 reports involving platform failures or instability. In several cases, children lost their balance and fell from the elevated platform.

At least three children suffered injuries, including bruises and a bloody nose. While none of the reported injuries were life-threatening, regulators believe continued use of the affected towers could result in more serious accidents if the defect is not corrected.

The recall was issued as a precaution to prevent additional injuries and encourage families to address the problem before another incident occurs.

Why Families Use Kitchen Helper Towers

Kitchen helper towers have become increasingly popular among parents who want to involve young children in everyday household activities.

The elevated platforms allow toddlers and preschool-aged children to safely reach countertops for cooking, baking, crafts and other family activities without standing on unstable chairs or stools.

Because the products lift children several feet above the ground, stability is one of their most important safety features. If any structural component becomes loose, the risk of losing balance and falling increases significantly.

Safety experts recommend regularly inspecting children’s furniture for loose hardware, cracks or signs of wear, particularly when products are used frequently.

Families Advised to Stop Using the Products

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging families to stop using the recalled towers immediately until the recommended repair has been completed.

Instead of attempting temporary fixes, consumers should contact Guide craft to receive free replacement repair parts along with detailed installation instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Officials warn that homemade repairs may not fully resolve the safety issue and could leave children at continued risk of injury.

Parents are encouraged to keep children away from the recalled towers until all repairs have been completed according to the manufacturer’s guidance.

How to Check if Your Tower Is Included

Consumers who own a Guide craft Kitchen Helper Tower should inspect the label located underneath the standing platform.

The label contains both the item number and lot number, which can be compared with the information provided in the official recall notice.

If the numbers match the recalled products, families should immediately stop using the tower and request the free repair kit from Guide craft.

The manufacturer is providing replacement parts at no cost to ensure affected products can be safely repaired and returned to use.

Product Recalls Highlight the Importance of Safety

Consumer advocates say recalls like this serve as an important reminder that even products designed with children’s safety in mind should be checked regularly for defects.

Monitoring recall announcements can help families identify potential hazards before accidents occur. Registering children’s products after purchase also allows manufacturers to notify customers directly if future safety concerns arise.

Although only a small number of injuries have been reported so far, regulators stress that acting quickly can prevent more serious incidents. Parents who own one of the recalled Guidecraft Kitchen Helper Towers are encouraged to complete the repair process as soon as possible and avoid using the product until it has been fixed.
