A Republican senator has publicly broken with a Trump-backed congressman, urging him to seek professional help as domestic abuse allegations trigger growing political fallout.

Republican Feud Erupts Into the Open

A deeply personal family dispute has erupted into a national political firestorm, putting two prominent Republicans on opposite sides. Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno has publicly urged Rep. Max Miller a fellow Republican and longtime Trump ally to “seek professional help” and step down from Congress, escalating a controversy that is drawing attention far beyond Ohio.

Moreno’s comments came after months of remaining largely silent while a legal battle unfolded between Miller and the senator’s daughter, Emily Moreno. She has accused her former husband of domestic abuse, allegations that Miller has repeatedly denied.

Moreno Delivers His Strongest Public Rebuke

In a lengthy public statement, Moreno said he could no longer stay silent because of what he described as a troubling pattern of behavior.

The Ohio senator argued that Miller no longer meets the standard expected of an elected official and said he believes the congressman should not continue serving in the House of Representatives. Moreno also urged his former son-in-law to seek professional help, claiming he fears for the safety of his daughter and granddaughter.

Miller Pushes Back Against the Allegations

Miller has strongly rejected every allegation made against him. In a video posted on social media, the Trump endorsed congressman insisted he has done nothing wrong and said no court or government agency has substantiated claims that he abused either his former wife or their young daughter.

He also made clear that he has no plans to end his reelection campaign, saying he intends to remain on the ballot and believes he will win in November.

    Trump Responds as Pressure Builds

The controversy has placed Republicans in a difficult position, particularly because both Moreno and Miller have close ties to President Donald Trump.

Asked about the allegations, Trump said he had only recently become aware of the situation and noted that, at this stage, they remain accusations. He added that he would continue to monitor developments before reaching any conclusions.

Meanwhile, Democrats have intensified calls for a congressional ethics investigation and argue that the controversy raises serious questions about Miller’s future in office.

    Political Stakes Continue to Rise

The dispute comes at a critical moment as Republicans work to defend their narrow majority in the House of Representatives. What was once viewed as a safely Republican congressional district is now drawing increased attention as Democrats see an opportunity to compete more aggressively.

With a key election deadline approaching, the controversy has become one of the most closely watched political stories in Ohio.

    Legal Fight Still Ongoing

The domestic abuse allegations remain part of an ongoing legal dispute and have not been resolved in court. Miller continues to deny all claims, while Moreno insists his former son-in-law should leave Congress and seek professional treatment.

With legal proceedings still underway and no court ruling on the allegations, the political fallout continues to grow. Miller maintains his innocence and says he will stay in the race, while Moreno insists the congressman should leave office. As the case unfolds, it is likely to remain one of the Republican Party’s most closely watched controversies, with potential implications for both the upcoming elections and the GOP’s public image.
