Wednesday Brings Sunshine, Humidity and a Few Storm Chances
New Jersey is heading into a stretch of unsettled weather, but Wednesday itself should remain mostly pleasant across much of the state. Skies are expected to stay mostly sunny for most of the day, with temperatures climbing into the 80s.
The bigger concern will be the humidity and the possibility of a few isolated showers. According to the National Weather Service, a spotty shower could develop Wednesday morning, while the chance for showers and thunderstorms increases again Wednesday night.
For many residents, that means the day may start and feel fairly typical for summer before conditions become more unsettled after sunset.
Storm Chances Continue Into Thursday
The unsettled pattern is expected to continue overnight and into Thursday, although severe weather is not currently expected.
Thursday should still feature plenty of sunshine, with temperatures again reaching the 80s. A few isolated showers could pop up during the morning, followed by another chance for showers or thunderstorms later in the day.
The storms are expected to remain scattered rather than becoming a widespread weather event. That could mean one community sees rain while another nearby area stays completely dry.
Friday Could Bring a Noticeable Change
The chance for showers and thunderstorms will continue Thursday night and into Friday as a lingering front moves through the region.
Once that front clears, however, New Jersey should begin to see a change in the overall weather pattern. Cooler and less humid air is expected to move into the state, bringing some relief after several days of muggy summer conditions.
Friday is expected to feature mostly sunny skies, with temperatures remaining in the 80s. While a shower or storm could still be possible early in the day, conditions should gradually become more comfortable as the front moves away.
Weekend Forecast Looks Much Better
For anyone looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast currently offers considerably better news.
Saturday is expected to bring plenty of sunshine, with temperatures ranging from the low to mid-80s. Humidity should also be lower, making outdoor plans more comfortable than they may be during the middle of the week.
The pleasant conditions could continue for much of Sunday as well, although the forecast becomes less certain later in the day.
Showers and thunderstorms could return late Sunday into Monday as another weather system approaches the region.
A Stormy Finish Could Follow a Beautiful Weekend
For now, New Jersey’s weather appears to follow a familiar summer pattern: sunshine during the day, isolated storm chances at times, and a noticeable improvement heading into the weekend.
The best window for outdoor activities appears to be Saturday and much of Sunday, when sunny skies, lower humidity and temperatures in the 80s are expected.
But residents should not completely put away their umbrellas. A few unsettled days are still ahead before New Jersey gets its weekend break, and another round of showers and thunderstorms could arrive just as the weekend winds down.
