The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said the allegations involve Deily Perez and Chillyann Spencer, who were working as teaching assistants at the day care.
According to authorities, the alleged incidents occurred on Sept. 9, 2026. The Division of Child Protection & Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Sept. 11 after receiving information about the allegations.
A subsequent investigation concluded that Perez and Spencer had physically victimized two children, authorities said.
Officials have not disclosed details about what allegedly happened to the children. They also have not identified the day care where the two women worked.
Both Perez and Spencer were arrested Wednesday and charged with child endangerment. Authorities said the women were initially remanded to jail and appeared in court before being released Friday while the case proceeds.
The allegations remain accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
