Authorities later confirmed that Hilton was admitted under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows a temporary involuntary mental health evaluation when someone is believed to be at immediate risk of harming themselves or others.Officials have not released additional details about his medical condition.
TikTok Says It Alerted Authorities
TikTok said its automated safety systems detected the livestream and referred it to human moderators for review. The company later acknowledged that a moderation error delayed the removal of the broadcast.
The platform also confirmed it alerted law enforcement after identifying the emergency. Hilton’s account was subsequently deactivated and permanently banned because the livestream violated TikTok’s community guidelines on content involving self-harm.
