Sasha C. Raught, 58, of Manchester Township, was found guilty of sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault following a two week jury trial in Monmouth County.
Incidents Involved Two Former Athletes
According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, investigators determined that Raught had entered into sexual relationships with two former athletes while they were teenagers.
The first incident reportedly took place during the early to mid 1990s, when Raught was working as a coach at Shrewsbury Gymnastics.
The second incident occurred in 2008, while Raught was employed at Jonas Gymnastics Academy in Marlboro.
Raught Arrested in 2023
Authorities began investigating the allegations before Raught was arrested at his Manchester Township home in May 2023.
He was later indicted in 2024 and prosecuted in Monmouth County.
Raught is currently scheduled to be sentenced on December 11, 2026.
The case involved allegations dating back decades and centered on Raught’s conduct with athletes he coached while they were teenagers.
